Content Archival Policy (CAP)

The Content Archival Policy (CAP) defines the guidelines for archiving, retaining, and removing content published on the official website. This policy is framed in accordance with the Guidelines for Indian Government Websites (GIGW) issued by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).

Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to ensure that outdated, redundant, or obsolete content is systematically archived while maintaining transparency, authenticity, and availability of relevant information.

Content Identification
  • Content is periodically reviewed to identify information that is outdated or no longer relevant
  • Time-sensitive content such as notices, tenders, and announcements is identified for archival after expiry
Archival Process
  • Archived content is removed from the active website and stored securely
  • Archival records are maintained for administrative, legal, or reference purposes
  • Archived content is preserved without modification to ensure authenticity
Retention Period

Content retention periods are determined based on the nature of the information, statutory requirements, and departmental guidelines.

Responsibility

The designated content owner or authorized official is responsible for identifying content for archival and ensuring compliance with this policy.
