Publication Overview
The Asiatic Society is known to the world mostly because of its publications of high academic standard. Just after four years of its inception the Society started its publication in 1788 with the publication of Asiatick Researches. In the words of Sir William Jones, “If now it be asked, what are the intended objects of our inquiries within these spacious limits, we answer, MAN and NATURE; whatever is performed by the one, or produced by the other.” Following its objectives, the Society has been publishing original and noteworthy books and articles to maintain its glory and high academic standard as in the past.
The Society publishes books in different series, viz., Bibliotheca Indica, Monograph, Seminar & Public Lecture, Catalogues & Bibliographical Works etc. and some under Miscellaneous publications. The Asiatic Society also brings out periodicals (Journal & Monthly Bulletin) and booklets on different occasions.

During this period (01.04.2024 - 31.03.2025) 13 books, two issues of the Journal of the Asiatic Society (including a special issue on 225th Birth Anniversary of James Prinsep), 9 issues of Monthly Bulletin of The Asiatic Society, one issue of Information of The Asiatic Society and four booklets have been published.
The Asiatic Society participated in the International Kolkata Book Fair 2025. A total of 68 titles of Society's publications were gifted to the Library of Raj Bhavan, Kolkata for display. Social media platforms of the Society are used regularly to showcase our publications. Liaison with booksellers, academic institutions, libraries etc. has also been made.
